Chinchorreando with Caribbean Dried Co.

Passion fruit · pineapple · lime · bubbles

An original drink inspired by the joy of Puerto Rican chinchorreo: tropical, refreshing, and finished with a mix of dried fruit.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz passion fruit nectar
  • 1 ½ oz pineapple juice
  • ¾ oz lime juice
  • ½ oz ginger syrup
  • 1 oz white or gold rum, optional
  • 2 oz sparkling water
  • Ice
  • Caribbean Dried Co. dried orange, lime, or pineapple

Method

  1. Add the passion fruit, pineapple, lime, ginger syrup, and optional rum to a shaker with ice.
  2. Shake for 10 seconds and strain into a tall glass filled with fresh ice.
  3. Top with sparkling water and stir once, gently, from bottom to top.

The finishing touchPair two dried fruit wheels on the rim to represent the different stops along the route. For a zero-proof version, omit the rum and add 1 extra oz of sparkling water or coconut water.

A Puerto Rican classic with a clean presentation and a dried pineapple wheel that adds aroma before the first sip.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz chilled pineapple juice
  • 1 ½ oz cream of coconut
  • 1 oz white rum, optional
  • 1 cup ice
  • 1 dried pineapple or orange wheel

Method

  1. Add pineapple juice, cream of coconut, optional rum, and ice to a blender.
  2. Blend until smooth and creamy.
  3. Pour into a chilled glass, leaving room for the garnish to remain visible.

The finishing touchRest a dried pineapple wheel on the rim. For a zero-proof version, omit the rum and add ½ oz more pineapple juice.

Ingredients

  • 3 oz pineapple juice
  • 1 oz lime juice

  • ½ oz grenadine
  • Ice
  • 1 dried lime or orange wheel

Method

  1. Fill a tall glass with ice and add pineapple and lime juices.
  2. Slowly add sparkling water to preserve the bubbles.
  3. Pour grenadine down the side of the glass to create the sunset effect.

Citrus Iced Tea

Black tea, honey, and citrus in a simple recipe for a quiet afternoon or an event pitcher.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups water
  • 3 black tea bags
  • 1–2 tablespoons honey
  • 4 dried lemon or lime wheels
  • Ice and mint leaves, optional

Method

  1. Heat two cups of water, remove from heat, and steep the tea for 4 minutes.
  2. Add honey while the tea is warm and stir until dissolved.
  3. Add two cups of cold water and refrigerate until chilled.
  4. Serve over ice and divide the citrus wheels among the glasses.
